During her career, Kiess has also served as Crisis Negotiator with NIPAS, a youth officer, and a breathalyzer operator. Detective Kiess was selected for her exceptional achievement in the line of duty, including her investigative work on highly sensitive and in-depth criminal investigations during the year.ĭetective Kiess is an 8-year veteran of the Mount Prospect Police Department and is currently assigned to the Investigative Unit. In making the selection, the award committee was seeking a female law enforcement officer who had made a significant impact on their agency and/or community during 2022.
